Lancashire Sport is working closely with local and regional partners to make sure that our County gets the most out of the London Games. We want to make sure that the people of Lancashire are inspired by London 2012, and we seek investment, inspiration and resources to make sure that our County is left with a full and lasting legacy.

We have a well supported Lancashire 2012 group led by key strategic organisations drawn from the County and Region, who are working with energy and passion to ensure that Lancashire is a part of the 2012 Olympiad and the Games create a meaningful legacy for the Communities of Lancashire. The Lancashire 2012 group has worked with Strategic local partners and Sport Governing Bodies to identify our key Olympic legacy Sports as Swimming and Cycling. These Sports will form the core focus of the 2012 Olympiad celebration, along with Football as the three Cultural Olympiad celebration Sports for Lancashire.

For more detail of the work and progress of the group, the groups minutes are available below.
