The EFDS seeks to appoint a Regional Development Manager in the North West Region to co-ordinate and deliver a regional plan that addresses the aims and objectives of the EFDS. The incoming manager will play a key role in developing partnerships with the counties in the region and establishing disability county officer posts to deliver local activity. The areas of work that the regional team will be focussing upon will include grass roots activity through a focus on the areas of Education, Community, Sport, Empowerment, Promotion and other relevant partnerships.
An outstanding person is sought for this key appointment. The role represents a major opportunity to be integral in the development of a sustainable disability sport activities across the region. The person appointed will be a self-motivated team player with strong skills in strategic planning and partnership working. They will also be a skilled negotiator, have excellent presentation skills and a track record in managing budgets. In addition you should have at least 3 years sports development experience. An understanding of issues relating to participation in sport by disabled people is preferable but not essential.
The successful applicant will join a team of eight other Regional Development Managers, each operating out of the Sport England geographic regions. The location of the office within the region is open to negotiation.
