Main Duties

  • To support the Workforce Development Manager in achieving key priorities within the Lancashire Workforce Development Plan 2008 – 2012 and contribute generally to the work of the Workforce Development team

  • To work to achieve the core themes and specific workforce development team targets in the Lancashire Sport strategy and the Lancashire Sport business plan.

  • To work with the Sporting Infrastructure Manager and the Club Development Group to develop a diagnostic which can be used to identify club needs throughout the County

  • To pilot Organisational Needs Analysis (ONAs) and Training Needs Analysis (TNAs) with clubs in Lancashire and contribute to the development of a suitable infrastructure which can deliver ONAs and TNAs on an on-going basis.

  • To manage the development of a local Coaching System Support Network (CSSN) to support coaches at community level in response to Governing Body Whole Sport Plans (WSPs). This work is part of a nationally coordinated network in line with the UK Coaching Framework.

  • To support the development of the process at a local level and to identify, agree and prioritise need and align available resources to need in responce to the Governing Body WSPs.

  • To provide NGBs and their coaches with a mechanism by which they can receive local support to help facilitate the deployment if their paid/voluntary coaches a range of settings including schools, local authority and national programmes (Community Sports Coach Scheme, Schools Sport Coaching Programme, Recruit into Coaching and Sport Unlimited)

  • To embed nationally endorsed Minimum Standards for Deployment in Coaching within the CSSN, particulary within school, local authority and national programme settings.

  • To support and extend a network of coach education and learning providers to ensure that there is effective and efficient provision of 'learner centred' coach education and professional development opportunities.

  • To manage the Lancashire Sport Coachweb System (www.coachinglancashire.org) in line with the national recommendations to support coaches continuous professional development CPD.

  • To establish a local coaching communication network that provides coaches with access to education, development and employment opportunities and examples of good practice.

  • To embed nationally determined Research Programmes into the CSSN that are established to investigate the inpact of coaching on Grow, Sustain and Excel.
