Play Bowls Days

Taster Sessions where potential members have an introduction to bowls.

Play Bowls for Fun 

A 4 week programme which allows people to come along to their local club andd receive 4 free (2 hr) sessions as an introduction to the game. Play Bowls Roadshows

Play Bowls Roadshow is a promotional and advertising tool aimed at offering people of all ages the chance to try the sport of bowls whether it be in a shopping mall, local leisure centre, town hall, county show, or even the local supermarket! Those that "have a go" will receive details on their local club and a voucher for a free session at that club.The transit van contains 2 short mats and all the equipment required to run a successful roadshow. The van's driver will attend the event and work alongside club volunteers to deliver a quality experience for all who attend. Payment of expenses - £750

Clubmark

Clubmark is an important accreditation that Sport England offer all clubs to apply to and one that LSP will assist with any application. Any club can apply for Clubmark accreditation providing they have a junior section. To be successful in the application the club must operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum standards as laid down by Sport England. Grant - £150

Packages Overview

Packages for Clubs

The BDA have developed a new package system offering affiliated clubs across the country the opportunity to apply for BDA funding. The BDA Packages have been designed to help support clubs to organise events that have been proven to attract new members into the sport. The application form is quick and simple and can be downloaded from the relevant package page.

How to apply

Clubs can apply for a package during the 'Package Windows', the first of these windows was open between the 1st and 31st March 2013 with another window opening throughout July and August 2013. Silver Package - Available to all affiliated clubs to deliver:

1 x Play Bowls Day

Bowls Coaching Briefing Document

Bowls Coaching Briefing Document

The Bowls Development Alliance is the only recognised body for Bowls Coaching in England, currently funded by Sport England and working on the behalf of the code specific National Governing Bodies for outdoor and indoor flat green bowls. All products and resources are also open to and relevant for the codes of short mat bowls and crown green bowls.
