What is Get Qualified?

Get Qualified is an exciting new programme for Lancashire and a real opportunity for those seeking to gain their first coaching qualification or to upgrade to the next level, to access some funding to help with the cost.

Lancashire Sport were delighted to be part of a collaborative partnership with Cumbria Sport and the University of Cumbria, which has been awarded £250,000 from Sport England, to support the growth of training and skills in the sports sector, including outdoor sports. Skillsactive, the Sector Skills Council for sport has also given support to the programme.

Over the next two years, the Get Qualified programme aims to assist in the development of a quality sport workforce across these two counties and ultimately help to increase participation in sport and active leisure in local communities.

It enables individuals to apply to the University and, if eligible, receive support towards certain up-to-the-minute skills and recognised qualifications ( not just coaching qualifications).
