More Information: This course is introducing to learners some of the causes of mental ill health. We will also explore some of the common myths and preconceptions that are frequently linked to a mental health diagnosis and the associated impact this may have on an individual's wellbeing. The course will involve group activities, work sheets, handouts, power point, video's etc to support your learning.

Drug Use and Misuse Introduction - Volunteer Service Training Course Programme

More Information: A starting-point looking at drugs in society. The short course will focus on the problems created by the abuse and misuse of drugs and how these issues affect us all. The course will aim to identify what we think are the problems around drugs in society. What is being done about addressing these problems through official channels? What we think still needs to be done and how the group thinks the drug problem should be tackled. Successful completion of this course could lead you on to the Level 2 (Ascentis) course, 'Introduction to Understanding Drug Use & Misuse'

Physical Disability Awareness - Volunteer Service Training Course Programme

More Information: This course will look at the social and medical model of physical disability and give an insight into the difficulties faced by people who have a physical disability. Participants will be made aware of different types and causes of physical disability and how society can support and enable people to access their environment and the community.

More Information: Every child deserves to enjoy their sport. This workshop will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse and poor practice, and give you the tools you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career. This is a three hour workshop covering the basics of safeguarding children in a sporting context. It is a pre-requisite for Clubmark accreditation.
