British Cycling is the national governing body for cycling as recognised by the UCI - the international federation for the sport. As such, British Cycling works across all levels and six disciplines of the sport (BMX, Mountain Bike, Cyclo-Cross, Road, Track and Cycle Speedway), from providing the support and encouragement people need to get riding their bikes for the first time, to being home to the hugely successful Great Britain Cycling Team.
Cycling in Lancashire
Lancashire is a great county to cycle in. From the Bowland Fells and Pennine Hills to the flat coastal plains, promenades and canal paths there are routes for all to enjoy. Networks of cycle routes are being developed in urban areas, making easier to cycle to work, school, college and the shops and new 20 mph speed limits are making it safer in residential areas.

Charlotte's Tandems is a Registered Charity that lends tandems for free to anyone with a special need or disability so that they can enjoy the wonders of cycling. They can therefore ride for fun, commuting or for sport.
There are tandems all over the country for FREE to hire. Full details about the charity can be found at www.CharlottesTandems.co.uk.
