What are the Lancashire Sports Awards?
The Lancashire Sports Awards have been developed in partnership with each of Lancashire's local authorities in order to celebrate sporting achievement and showcase best practice throughout the County. The Awards aim to pay tribute to those, young and old, that show dedication to perform at the highest level or those who work tirelessly to support individuals or clubs week in, week out, for the love of sport.
How are nominations made?
Each Local Authority in Lancashire has been hosting its own awards competition, seeking nominations in each of the following categories;
- Uclan Coach of the Year
- Funds4Clubs Community Club of the Year
- Young Volunteer of the Year
- Adult Volunteer of the Year
- Lancaster University School of the Year
- Rising Star
- Service to Disability Sport - New for 2013!
- Thornton Sports Lifetime Achievement - Commitment to Sport
The winner of each category in every local authority is automatically put forward to the County Awards, with the winners being announced at the Lancashire Sports Awards.
When and where is the Event?
The 2013 Lancashire Sports Awards will be taking place on October 11th 2013 at De Vere Village Hotel Herons' Reach Blackpool.
What does the Event involve?
Those nominated for the various awards, will rub shoulders with their sporting heroes at the glittering ceremony, which will include a drinks reception, lavish three course dinner in addition to the awards presentations, sports raffle and post awards party.
Is there a dress code?
The occasion is for more formal attire. No jeans, tracksuits or trainers please!
