Lancashire Bombers Wheelchair Basketball is delighted to announce the sponsorship of their new Team Kit through Help Direct. The club set up in March 2011 is a fully inclusive Wheelchair Basketball Club for disabled and none disabled adults and young people. During the last 8 months the club has been working tirelessly to attract funding for equipment such as sports wheelchairs, basketballs and floor hoops as well as team kit and training wear.
Thanks to the support of Help Direct Lancashire Bombers Wheelchair Basketball Club now has a team kit which the club hope to use by entering the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball League in 2012. This will be a massive achievement for the club members most of whom had never played Wheelchair Basketball before.
Through the kit sponsorship with Help Direct the club hopes to increase the awareness of Wheelchair Basketball in Lancashire and to increase the membership of the club.
Club volunteer Mark Stephenson said "We are absolutely delighted to have the support of Help Direct. We all love our new kit which has helped all our members recognise they are part of a great group of people. We cannot wait to join the league next year and test out our new skills!"
The club currently has 18 members and are always on the look out for new people who would like to try a really exciting and sport. The club currently has 12 Sports Wheelchairs and are looking for funding to help purchase further Wheelchairs so more wheelchair users can come along and be part of a truly unique team.
