Lancaster Open Weekend

Lancaster City Council are joining more than 20 local sports clubs, societies and venues to celebrate the Open Weekend.

The weekend takes place from 22-24 July 2011 when more than 40 activities and taster sessions will be on offer to mark one year to go until the London Olympics.

Events will take place at a variety of locations across the Lancaster district ranging from water polo, cycle racing, rowing, archery, tennis and boxing to tea dances at the Platform, arts and crafts and indoor bowls.

The majority of activities are free and others can be enjoyed at discounted rates.

Lancaster City Council will be putting on many of its own events including family swim sessions at all of its pools for a price befitting the occasion of just 20 pence adults and 12 pence children.
