A three time world champion gymnast will be in Burnley on Sunday 19th Feb to open a brand new sporting facility. London 2012 Medal Hopeful Beth Tweddle will be on hand to cut the ribbon to the new social enterprise based on Network 65 Business Park.

Burnley Enterprise of Sport & Training (BEST) will host an opening ceremony that will hope to inspire local people to increase participation in a range of sports that will be on offer. Burnley Gymnastics Club have re located to the facility to enable them to offer more sessions and longer training hours to a range of club level gymnasts. Also at the centre will be the provision of Indoor Bowls to encourage the sport to become a year round participation programme and keep people active.

The Olympian will be on hand to sign autographs and talk to VIP's on how the inspiration of the Olympics can inspire future generations to take part in Sport and Physical Activity. Beth will then perform a coaching master class to the clubs gymnasts whilst also being shadowed by the clubs coaches. This will give the young gymnasts a real flavour of what it takes to be an Olympian.

Director of BEST Andrew Smith said "We are delighted to be able to welcome such an inspirational athlete like Beth Tweddle to open this community facility. It has been hard work on a long road to get things open and this is the icing on the cake. We have had lots of help along the way from too many people to mention but special thanks must go to LED Electrical who have kindly sponsored the grand opening and getting Beth to open the facility".

Bookings are now being taken for various sports programmes taking place at the centre.
