Using data from a variety of sources including the Active People Survey and lifestyle research, Sport England has developed nineteen sporting segments to help us understand the nations’ attitudes and motivations into why they play sport and why they don’t.
The Sport England website has information on each of the segments, as well as information into which segments are more prevalent in the districts of Lancashire. Lancashire Sport Partnership will be arranging a market segmentation workshop on the 5th December at Myerscough College to introduce the research and what it means for Lancashire. To apply for the workshop (spaces are limited), please view the workshop flyer and booking form.
If you cannot attend the event, then please get in touch with us and we can arrange a presentation for your organisation.
We are currently analysing the data at a number of differing geographic levels for Lancashire and exploring how such data can be made available in a GIS format, making it possible to find out what people's sporting habits are in a particular street, community, local authority or region.
