Remember, a well-run club will welcome questions about their activities and policies. They will know they have a responsibility to give this kind of information to anyone who leaves a child or vulnerable adult in their care.
Lancashire Sport Partnership would recommend the following queries are taken into account before joining a club:
- There is a process of recruiting staff and volunteers.
- All staff and volunteers have got the necessary qualifications, including training on safeguarding children and health and safety.
- There are procedures in place concerning Supervision of staff and volunteers.

- You have informed the club of any personal needs your child requires
- The club has a procedure to follow concerning away fixtures and other events including necessary training for designated drivers and supervision
- The club has a procedure on 'how to report concerns'
- The club has a Code of Conduct
- The club has a Child Protection Policy
