Boxing

Boxing is an ancient sport and discipline. Two similarly weighted participants fight each other with their fists in a series of one to three-minute intervals called 'rounds'. A fight is won by knocking down your opponent and leaving them unable to rise to a ten count or if the other person is too badly injured to continue.  Alternatively a judge awards points in the event of a tie.  Boxing training and 'fitness for boxing' is also a great way for you to get fit and involves running, skipping, weights and agility workouts. It's a real aerobic work out and boxing is now becoming increasingly open to female participants rather than just men.  In Lancashire Boxing has grown in popularity with the success of Amir Khan.
