Basketball

Fast paced, intense, high-scoring, end-to-end, just some of the words which can be used to describe the game of basketball.

Invented over 100 years ago in America, the game of Basketball was devised as a game which could be played indoors by anybody due to the 'non-tackling' rule, and as an alternative to football and lacrosse.  Since then some of the most famous sportsmen have gained their fame playing the game, legends such as Michael Jordan, Ervin 'Magic' Johnson and Kobe Bryant.

Whilst perceived as a sport for tall people it is ideal for people of all heights, male and female.  The traditional game features 5 active players on court from each team, aiming to score a basket through a hoop at end of the court 10 feet off the ground.  If you fancy bouncing your way into some action then search for a club near you.
