If you would like to get involved with the programme and you are willing to provide us with information on the number of volunteering hours they have completed, travel expenses and complete a Volunteer Plan, we can provide you with the following benefits:

What you get from us

After completing 50 voluntary hours, you can access all three Minimum Operating Standard courses free of charge:

  • Safeguarding and Protecting Children
  • Equity in your Coaching
  • How to Coach Disabled People in Sport

Once 100 hours is achieved, you are eligible to receive:

  • T-shirt and Certificate
  • Travel Expenses

After 200 hours is completed you will receive:

  • Fleece and Certificate
  • Funding towards a NGB Level 1 or 2 Course

Although there is an emphasis on 200 hours, support is given beyond this and so there is no limit as to the number of hours a young person can volunteer on the programme. Alternatively, if you do not manage to complete 100 or 200 hours inform Lancashire Sport and you will be issued with a certificate for the number of hours you completed.

Please take note that due to the transition from Millennium Volunteers to V, as of January 2008 changes will be made to this programme.

Training available

As an integral part of the Young Volunteer Programme, all volunteers are encouraged to take part in training and take courses to ensure their own personal development.

Our Lancashire Club Development Programme, including a wide variety of courses useful for volunteers will start in winter 2007. If you are keen to see what other courses may be available to you this autumn, here are some useful links:

How do I join as a volunteer?

Please complete the online sign up form and send it to us, we will then contact your local volunteer co-ordinator and they will get in touch you to arrange an informal consultation.

If you do not have a placement in mind, they will meet you to discuss what your interests are and what opportunities are available to you.

Alternatively, you can download and print a sign-up form.
